Jack Kamin

Jack Kamin passed away on August 18, 2012. He was 91 years old, and to know him was to love him. Jack was a raconteur, singer, dancer and patriot. He loved his family above all, with his love of an audience coming in a close second! (Apparently, he was always happy to combine those two loves!)

The staff of the Mizel Museum was delighted to be introduced to Jack. We worked with him in 2009 to create one of our Immigration Community Narratives, which you can watch here. Jack also shared his family’s passport and his father’s passport from their emigration in the 1920’s. It can all be viewed in our exhibit, 4,000 Year Road Trip: Gathering Sparks. The world is a better place because of Jack (Yonkele) Kamin.
